Community Support and Fundraising

We are proud to say that we’ve been doing quite a bit of charity and fundraising work over the last few months.

Starting with a concert in April with a number of other performers we successfully raised over $2000 for Doctors without Borders.

Following on from the success of this concert, we had a smaller and more intimate soiree in May where we raised $1700 for the Positive Living Centre.

Last but not least, every year we also sing at the Melbourne International AIDS Candlelight Memorial. This year is was on the banks of the Yarra. A wonderfully poignant event of singing and remembrance.

LGBTQI Festivals!

We had fun at the Midsumma Festival this year.  We’ve opened the flood gates for new members with a stall at the Carnival, once again, a terrific success with lots of interest and an intake of 10 new members.

Following hot on the heels of one LGBT festival to another, the Chillout Festival in Daylesford was a blast.  Most the members stayed for the long weekend.  We had centre stage at the Daylesford Town Hall with rave reviews from both audience members and the festival organisers.

Keep an eye out for 2018.  We are most likely going to be performing again at Chillout next year.

LowRez at Midsumma

Another wonderful Midsumma carnival, with several members of the choir on hand to share some notes and ideas with curious Melbournians looking to get in on the action!  Thank you to everyone who helped, we signed up over 30 people interested in coming along to have a look!

Sausage Sizzling

Sausage Sizzling

Last weekend, LowRez were up early and selling sausages to raise money for the choir. We raised about $800 dollars for the choir as well as managing to publicise the upcoming concert in July. Thanks to everyone who took the time to come and support us.
